Subject: Open your account history

Hi,

Go and open your betting account history.
Scroll back twelve months.

If it reads more red than black,
you're not daft, and you haven't been lazy.

You've been fighting blind
against a handicapper who can see clearly.

Terry Davies built a rating of his own,
and it sets every runner against its official mark.

Between January and September,
it collected £50,617.65.

Swipe 2: Capped at pennies

Subject: Your stakes are now capped

Hi,

You have a good week.
Then a curt email lands.
Your stakes are now capped at pennies.

That's what the bookies do to winners.

Black Market Bets hunts for horses
whose real ability has run ahead of their mark.

It's the one edge they can't take off you,
because it lives in the numbers, not your account.

Nine winning months out of nine this year.

Subject: Why does your withdrawal take a fortnight?

Hi,

Your deposits clear in seconds.
Your withdrawals take a fortnight.

It's a slow squeeze,
and it works on almost everyone.

Terry Davies stopped playing their game.

He built a live rating for every horse in training,
then backed only the ones the handicapper
had got wrong.

Not one month of 2026 has finished in the red.

Swipe 4: The friendly phone call

Subject: He only rings when you're losing

Hi,

Ever noticed when the account manager rings?

Never after a winning Saturday.
Only when you're on a losing run.

The bookies know your habits
better than you know theirs.

Black Market Bets flips that round.

It reads the official mark on every runner,
and it only acts when a horse is clearly
better than the number it's carrying.

March alone returned £6,942.35.

Subject: Funny how that free bet turned up

Hi,

You swore you'd take a break this week.

Then a free bet landed in your inbox.

That's no accident.
Their greed knows no bounds.

The way to fight back isn't willpower.
It's having a rating of your own.

Black Market Bets gives you one,
drawn from 1.4 million runner records.

Swipe 6: The bandit

Subject: What golfers call a bandit

Hi,

In golf, a bandit is a player
whose real ability has run well ahead of his handicap.

He wins every club competition going,
until the committee catches up with him.

Racehorses do the same.

The ones improving faster than the handicapper
can keep up with are the ones that keep winning.

Black Market Bets finds them
before the mark moves.

Swipe 7: The chess hall

Subject: A sports hall full of children playing chess

Hi,

At a junior chess tournament,
every child carries a live rating.

After each round, every number moves.
Beat a stronger player and yours jumps.

Terry Davies watched it happen and laughed out loud.

Racehorses carry a number too,
but it's only revised once a week.

So he built a live one.

It collected £50,617.65 between January and September.

Swipe 8: How trainers play it

Subject: The trick handicap trainers never mention

Hi,

An improving horse is worth less to a trainer
if the handicapper spots it too early.

So it runs over the wrong trip,
or on ground it hates.

The mark drifts down a few pounds at a time.

Then it turns up somewhere that suits it,
with the right jockey booked.

Black Market Bets exists to catch that moment.

Swipe 9: 280 miles

Subject: Nobody drives 280 miles to make up the numbers

Hi,

Nobody loads a horse into a box at four in the morning
and drives it 280 miles to make up the numbers.

Black Market Bets measures the road distance
from every yard to every course.

When a horse already ahead of its mark
gets sent the length of the country for a small race,
the program sits up and takes notice.

It's one more clue the ladder weighs up.

Swipe 10: First-time visor

Subject: What a first-time visor tells you

Hi,

A first-time visor is a clue.

It tells you a trainer has been
trying something at home.

Most punters skim straight past it.

Black Market Bets doesn't.

It weighs headgear, trip, going, jockey record,
trainer form and the break since the last run,
then boils it all down to one figure per horse.

Not one losing month so far in 2026.

Swipe 11: 6lb

Subject: The number that took a year to set

Hi,

If a horse is rated 78 and runs off 78,
Black Market Bets does nothing.

If it runs off 84, it still does nothing.

It only acts when its own figure
is clearly higher than the official mark.

That margin has to clear 6lb
before a penny goes on.

It took the best part of a year to set,
and it hasn't moved since.

Swipe 12: Monday to Saturday

Subject: Same horse, same mark, five days later

Hi,

Official marks only change once a week.

So a horse can run a big race on a Monday
and turn out again on Saturday
off the very same number.

The Black Market Bets ladder
moved that horse up within minutes.

That head start is where the profit lives.

£50,617.65 between January and September.

Swipe 13: Beaten a neck

Subject: Beaten a neck, and that's good news

Hi,

Your horse was beaten a neck last month.
Looks like a loser on paper.

But the horse that beat it
has since won twice and gone up 9lb.

Suddenly that defeat looks a lot better.

The form figures won't tell you that.
The Black Market Bets ladder will.

Swipe 14: The price rule

Subject: If the price has gone, the bet is dead

Hi,

The model was right.
The money was still going missing.

On more than half the bets,
Terry had taken a shorter price than it required.

So he built one rule.

A bet only goes on at the price the model demands,
or better.

That rule turned a losing month
into a profitable one almost immediately.

Swipe 15: Two from three

Subject: Two winners from three, and still down

Hi,

Three selections.

He loved the first, so he trebled his stake.
It finished fourth.

He didn't fancy the third,
so he put a token amount on it.
It won at 6/1.

The middle one won as well.

He still finished the day down.

Since that afternoon,
he's never once overruled the machine.

Swipe 16: Young improvers

Subject: The 3-year-old telling you something

Hi,

A 3-year-old that's gone up 15lb
across its last four runs is telling you something.

A 7-year-old stuck on the same figure
for three seasons is telling you something else.

Black Market Bets learned to read the difference.

In the six months that followed,
its monthly profits doubled.

Subject: A tipster has an opinion

Hi,

Even the very best tipsters
are still, at heart, guessing.

Not one of them will tell you
what mark a horse is running off.

A tipster has an opinion.
Black Market Bets has a rating.

That's the difference in a single line.

Subject: Does your tipster back his own bets?

Hi,

Here's one most tipsters won't admit to.

A lot of them aren't backing their own selections
with real money.

Black Market Bets has been betting real money
since the spring of 2021.

The two men behind it
still back every selection themselves.

Swipe 20: Spring handicaps

Subject: Why March was the best month

Hi,

March was the best month of the year.

The spring handicaps were full of horses
returning from a winter break
on marks that no longer fit them.

That's the kind of mistake
Black Market Bets feeds on.

It returned £6,942.35 in those four weeks.

Swipe 21: 1.4 million runners

Subject: 1.4 million runners, 200 fields each

Hi,

15 years of British and Irish racing.

Going descriptions, rail movements,
headgear changes, race times
and the miles each runner travelled.

Roughly 1.4 million runner records,
each with over 200 fields attached.

A database engineer put it together,
and it can query 10 million rows in under a second.

That's what sits behind Black Market Bets.

Swipe 22: A length is not a length

Subject: When a length isn't a length

Hi,

A length at the end of a 5-furlong sprint
is a big margin.

A length at the end of a 3-mile chase
barely counts at all.

Most ratings treat them the same.

Black Market Bets puts a value in pounds
on every length at every distance,
then adjusts it again for the ground.

Subject: Three came in, then the fortnight after

Hi,

You know the Saturday.
Three come in and you feel unstoppable.

Then the fortnight afterwards,
those winnings drain back out a fiver at a time.

That's what betting blind looks like.

Black Market Bets backs only the horses
rated clearly above their official mark.

Swipe 24: Best form loses

Subject: Why the horse with the best form lets you down

Hi,

You back the horse with the best form.

The handicapper has already loaded it
with enough weight to stop it.

That's what the mark is for.
It isn't a measure of ability.
It's a leveller.

Black Market Bets looks for the horses
the leveller hasn't caught up with yet.

Swipe 25: Down the field

Subject: Why a beaten horse might be today's bet

Hi,

Where a horse finished last time
matters less than who it finished behind.

If the horses that beat it have won again since,
its run looks a lot better than the figures suggest.

Black Market Bets spots that.

Most punters never do.

£1,386.40 added in the last seven days alone.
